Introducing JobVivi: field service software that doesn't nickel-and-dime you

Why we built another field service platform when the market already had plenty — and what we decided to do differently about pricing, add-ons, and who gets the good features.

Today we're opening JobVivi to the public. It's a full field service management platform — estimates, scheduling, invoicing, payments, customer messaging — built for the cleaning companies, landscapers, HVAC techs, plumbers, and handymen who keep everything around us working.

The obvious question is why. There are established players in this market with big sales teams and bigger conference booths. We used some of them. That's actually the origin story.

The spreadsheet problem, then the software problem

Every field service business goes through the same arc. You start with a phone and a notebook. Then a spreadsheet. Then the spreadsheet has four tabs and your wife is helping you reconcile invoices on Sunday nights, and you decide it's time for real software.

So you go shopping, and you discover the second problem. The software that looked like $49 a month is $49 a month if you prepay a year and if you're a one-person shop. Add your two crew members: another $60 or $90 a month. Want the feature that made you sign up in the first place — automated follow-ups, or the customer portal, or GPS on the trucks? That's the next tier up. Or an add-on. Or both.

None of this is a scandal. It's just how the industry prices. But it means a five-person cleaning company routinely pays $200–300 a month for what is, at its core, a calendar, an invoice generator, and a text-messaging tool.

What we decided

We made three pricing decisions before we wrote a line of code, and they shaped everything after:

One real price for the whole product. JobVivi Pro is $59/month and it includes everything we make: all automations, route optimization, the customer portal, every invoice template, QuickBooks and Google sync, and your choice of payment processor. There is no secret higher tier where the good features live.

Seats cost what seats cost. Adding an employee is $5/month. That's the price of the infrastructure they use, not a tax on your growth. Your crew gets the mobile experience, clock-in/out, assigned jobs, and messaging.

The monthly price is the advertised price. No annual-prepay asterisk. If we can't keep you month to month, we haven't earned you.

What's in the box today

At launch, JobVivi handles the full life of a job: an estimate your customer can e-sign from their phone, one-click conversion to a scheduled job, crew assignment on a drag-and-drop calendar with a map view, invoicing with online payment through Stripe, Square, or PayPal, and a communications hub that keeps every email and text with a customer in one thread.

There's also a real dashboard — revenue trends, job pipeline, stale estimates that need a nudge — because we think a business owner should see the state of the business without exporting anything.

What's next

We have a long roadmap: deeper automations, smarter routing, and a proper mobile app for crews are all in progress. Everything we ship goes to every plan. That's the deal, and this blog is where we'll keep announcing it.
